ABOUT

The therapy room is a sacred, safe place to explore any and all parts of yourself, free from judgement.

ERIC
BEDELL, MHC-LP

I often find that the search process for mental health support can deter people from actually deciding to move forward into therapy.  With an ever-expanding index of new modalities and an onslaught of social media suggestions which could leave one to believe they might have multiple clinical diagnoses, it makes sense that this part of the journey would be unpleasant, confusing and overwhelming.

After completing a graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling and pursuing additional training in Psychodynamic therapy, Eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), things started to click a bit.  Further applying a trauma-informed lens to the work seemed to have offered another layer of understanding.  Bringing years of personal training and life coaching experience into the fold helped to solidify the somatic, mind-body importance.  The clarity that began to emerge for me and my patients seemed to revolve around a foundational truth that...

the relationship between patient and therapist is the single greatest contributor to success

This isn't a revolutionary idea I came up with, but it serves as a powerful reminder.

Everyone has a different need and goal for their unique challenges and lives, yet perhaps a similar target exists for us all. Maybe in the therapeutic relationship, in the room together or on our video call, the best thing we can all hope for is to feel completely free to be ourselves.

The therapeutic process I aim to offer to all of my patients is the space and time to get to know ourselves fully, involving all of the familiar and distanced parts, so that freedom to be who we are becomes possible.

I look forward to supporting you.
